Today, January 15th, we took the time here at AES to celebrate tree day. In partnership with Jordan's Ministry of Agriculture, we decided to have the kids plant trees around our community. In an attempt to raise awareness about the importance of trees and the environment, the Ministry of Agriculture approached schools throughout Jordan, asking what efforts schools would like to be a part of for Tree Day. Our school decided, that rather then planting trees around our school, we would choose a spot in Irbid to plant more then 20 trees. We took the 4th and 5th grade students on a little field trip, where they were able to work together to plant the trees. Although is was a bit chilly outside, the kids enjoyed the opportunity to have a hand in beautifying our community.
